Route information
Route

From the bus terminal in Saas-Fee, the entry point can be reached within a few minutes on foot. The approach is via a descent through the tower of the La Gorge restaurant. The route begins with a first zip line and then shaky suspension bridges. Climbers are constantly accompanied by the roar of the Feevispa along the route. From the last 80-meter-long suspension bridge, the more daring can rappel down. Alternatively, the rappel can be avoided by passing through a narrow rock crevice. At the end of the adventure course, you zip line into a mystical grotto – the way out leads via rope ladders to the course exit. From the exit, a path leads to the hamlet Unter den Bodmen, from where you can reach Saas-Grund in 10 minutes. From the campsite, follow the Kapellenweg back to Saas-Fee.

Equipment

For walking a via ferrata, a harness with a via ferrata set for self-protection is mandatory. Due to the risk of falling rocks, wearing a helmet is also a must.

Pay attention to good footwear, suitable clothing, and sufficient provisions. Gloves give additional protection to fingers and joints and prevent abrasions.

Safety instructions

Weather: Anyone on via ferrata routes should consider weather forecasts. A sudden worsening of the weather can be life-threatening. Via ferrata routes must be avoided in case of thunderstorms.

Falling rock danger: There is a risk of falling rocks on via ferrata routes, mostly triggered by preceding climbers or wildlife. Protect yourself by wearing a helmet.

Securing: When on a via ferrata, always make sure to keep sufficient distance from the preceding climber. There should only be one person in an anchoring section at a time.
